PRESS RELEASE
[FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE]ACTIVE SITTING IS A QUESTION OF TRAINING
Tieringen, Klosterneuburg, May 2019 - With its "Active Sitting Solutions", Interstuhl ensures that more movement takes place at the workplace - even while seated. In addition to active sitting solutions, training programmes are also offered for this purpose. In Austria this program is now being implemented in cooperation with the fitness specialists of FitnessGoesOffice.
Long periods of static sitting are harmful to the body. At the end of 2018, office furniture manufacturer Interstuhl therefore presented its "Active Sitting Solutions" at Orgatec, the leading international trade fair for modern working environments. The chair manufacturer from the south of Germany is thus the first supplier on the market to pursue a holistic system that covers all aspects of sitting in motion. Under the keywords "Body, Mind & Soul", Interstuhl offers innovative products for sitting in motion (Body) such as the PUREis3 office swivel chair. On the other hand, the seating specialist has developed a sensor and an app together with Garmin to raise awareness (mind) of individual sitting behaviour at work. The third component of the concept is the training program (Soul) developed with sports scientists. The aim of the training is to understand and internalize all facets of sitting. Participants learn content on the topics of healthy backs, nutrition and stress management, paired with strengthening and balance exercises. The exercises associated with the training can be easily integrated into everyday sitting life and performed in any working environment. The didactic concept is a new solution for occupational health management in companies.
Since spring 2019 Interstuhl in Austria has been cooperating with the sports and nutrition experts of "FitnessGoesOffice" based in Klosterneuburg and Vienna. The aim is to offer the training programme for the office across the board. "We are very happy to have found in FitnessGoesOffice a partner who shares our convictions on the topic of sitting and movement", says Marco Thein, Sales Manager of Interstuhl in Austria. Already since 2013 FitnessGoesOffice has been dedicated to the topic of corporate fitness. The trainings take place directly in the companies. Here the participants learn from experienced and specially trained coaches what is important for active sitting, how to strengthen the back or how to effectively release tension. The aim of the training sessions is to help working people to achieve a healthy lifestyle.
"The human being and his well-being are our motivation" Susanne Hödl-Oels, Head of Marketing & Sales of FitnessGoesOffice describes her company philosophy. To achieve this, innovative, scientifically based training methods are used. Besides the topic of sitting, questions of stress management, nutrition or even sleeping are on the agenda.
Anyone who wants to maintain their health, performance and therefore enjoyment at work must be able to balance sitting and movement. And if you want to make active sitting possible, you must not only think about seating solutions but must also focus on the entire person and his or her behaviour. With this in mind, FitnessGoesOffice and Interstuhl in Austria are joining forces with the aim of bringing more sit-life balance into the office.
